Some Pictures of our activities

Our last night at Allen Institute was filled with mixed emotions, from happy memories to very sad good-byes.  Our longest student, Shemel (mellie-bo) will not be returning to the new living arrangement. Because New Beginnings for Life is not a "school," her government in the Virgin Islands will not continue with her funding. Even though Mellie received her education at a state community college, and the new home will offer more supports than Allen Institute, her government would not approve her visit. Mellie was one semester away from completing her certificate program. We all miss her very much, and think of her everyday.

We miss you Kristina. Come visit! Kristina was fortunate enough to secure other supports, and is living near by.
